Last week, three of our students and a teacher proudly represented our school at the annual Globeducate Academic Olympics, hosted by O Castro British International School in Vigo, Spain. This prestigious event brought together students from Globeducate schools around the world, giving them the opportunity to collaborate on challenges in Robotics, Science, and Mathematics while building connections across borders.

Over the course of the week, students worked in mixed teams, tackling engaging and innovative challenges that tested their creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork. From coding robots to solving complex equations, every activity pushed participants to apply their knowledge in exciting ways.

The event wasn’t all about academics—on the final day, participants ventured out on a scavenger hunt around the beautiful city of Vigo. Highlights included a boat ride in the bay, exploring the city’s streets, and taking in the magical Christmas lights.

Ali, one of the Year 10 students who attended the event, reflected on his experience:

"The Academic Olympics were an amazing experience for me. By the end of it, my team and I were closely knit together, and I truly hope I see them again. The activities were quite engaging; even if my team wasn't doing too well, it was impossible to stop having fun. Vigo was nice as well: seeing the bay during our boat ride, walking around the city during our scavenger hunt, and seeing the Christmas lights were all wonderful! Had I been given the chance; I may have stayed there another week!"

We are incredibly proud of our students for their enthusiasm, collaboration, and dedication throughout the week. A special thank you goes to O Castro British International School for hosting such an inspiring and well-organised event.
