We are proud to announce that students from ICS London achieved a significant success in the 2025 Globeducate Debate, emerging as winners in their pairing and demonstrating exceptional skill, insight, and professionalism throughout the event.

This annual competition brought together 29 schools from 10 countries, engaging students in three days of live debates that showcased a high standard of public speaking, critical thinking, and international collaboration.

Representing ICS London, our Year 8 students delivered a compelling performance as they argued against the motion “Money buys you happiness.” They spoke with clarity and conviction, drawing on well-researched international examples, including Bhutan’s use of Gross National Happiness as a national metric, in contrast to traditional economic indicators such as GDP.

Their arguments reflected thoughtful analysis and open-minded inquiry, key components of our academic philosophy. Preparation included a rehearsal debate on the topic of de-extinction, which further strengthened their ethical reasoning and persuasive communication skills.

One of our students was also recognised with the title of "Most Outstanding Debater," reflecting the dedication, composure, and academic excellence demonstrated throughout the event.

We commend our students for their rigorous preparation, confident delivery, and for embodying the values of global citizenship and international-mindedness. Their success in this prestigious event is a testament to their hard work and the strength of our educational approach.
