As part of the Globeducate Agenda Events, students in Years 7–9 took part this week in the WWF Wild Wisdom Global Challenge. Although the challenge is primarily aimed at Secondary students, it is open to all learners aged 10-14, giving a wide range of young people the chance to explore global biodiversity and environmental issues in an engaging, interactive way

This year’s challenge introduced an exciting new twist: seven continent-based QUESTS. Students explored rich and varied content about species from every continent, with each quest including at least one animal connected to a current WWF initiative. This immersive approach encouraged learners to develop a deeper understanding of global ecosystems while considering the environmental pressures facing wildlife today.

To guide their journey, students completed a core quest supported by 'Buddy', an AI chatbot designed to promote analytical thinking and problem-solving. This interactive tool helped students stay engaged, ask questions, and think critically about the topics they encountered.

Throughout the challenge, our students demonstrated curiosity, empathy, and a genuine desire to understand and protect the natural world. Below are some of their reflections:

"I learned so much more about the planet we're living in. I also didn't know some things about my own home country that I learned during this challenge." -Rajwa, Year 9

"I found the topic interesting and it was fun to learn about how animals contribute to their environments. The continent quests went well and I made sure to really read through and learn lots of things about these animals. The quiz made me really sad to hear that these animals were suffering because of what human beings have been doing to these wonderful animals. I would like to contribute to wildlife projects and pollution." -Aidan, Year 9

The enthusiasm and thoughtful reflections shared by our students highlight the importance of initiatives like the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge. By exploring environmental issues across all seven continents, students are building the knowledge, awareness, and motivation needed to become informed and responsible global citizens.
